FAQ's
Q. Is The Bulstone coastal or country?
A. A wonderful hybrid of both. Surrounded by countryside but only 1.5miles to the beach.
Q. Where is The Bulstone located?
A. At the very top of the lovely village of Branscombe, only a short distance from the A3052, which links to Dorset and Exeter.
Q. Is The Bulstone dog friendly?
A. Yes! We welcome well behaved dogs, with lots of countryside lanes and walks to explore, its a perfect escape for you and your 4 legged friends!
Q. What shops are close by?
A. There is a little general shop at OakMead campsite (about a mile away) which is walkable from us. You can grab a game of golf or lunch and an ice cream there too!
Down in the village there is a bakery and on the beach there is also a small shop.
Larger shops and supermmarkets can be found at Sidmouth (Waitrose & Lidl) Honiton (Tesco and Aldi) or Seaton (Tesco Superstore and Aldi). All are approx.10mins drive.
Q. How close is the nearest pub (most important question!)
A. We have 2 fabulous pubs local to us:
1. The Fountain Head - a traditional local pub serving good food (check opening times as they vary). Approx 15 min walk from us down the lane, with a gentle hill climb coming back.
2. The Mason's Arms - a wonderful, well renowned pub serving excellent food (make sure you book with plenty of notice as it gets very busy, especially in peak season). You can walk vias back lanes, downhill and it will take you about 30min. Be prepared for the walk back, as parts are very steep, but it is worth it and you are spoilt with exceptional views! You can drive down and park at either Branoc Hall (with a 10min level walk) or park in their own car park. Alternatively you can catch the little bus hopper bus down to the village from the end of our driveway. The bus runs both ways 3 times a day.
Q. How many people can you sleep?
A. With a combination of suites and apartments we can cater for up to 34 people.
Q. Can I book a group stay?
A. Absolutely! We are a great place for groups of Families and Friends to come together for birthdays and celebrations, or simply a get-away together, each with your own space. Enquire for special discounts for group bookings.
